Let’s talk Cocktail Dresses

A cocktail dress is an investment, and to keep it looking as beautiful as the day you bought it, it should be professionally dry cleaned. Once done, you’ll want to properly store your dress to keep it looking good. Here are our top storage tips for cocktail dresses:

Invest in a quality hanger. You invested in a lovely lbd (any cocktail dress), so keep it looking great with a quality hanger. Opt for wood or foam hangers to help the shoulders keep their shape. (Remember our post on suit hangers…same suggestion, here.)

Pantone Color of the Year for 2021 is Yellow

Nothing says "happy" quite like the color yellow. And, the pros agree. The Pantone Color of the Year for 2021 is...drum roll please...YELLOW.

One of our EmBELLish vendors, Park Hill Collection (best candles around), suggests this PRO TIP: Don't be afraid to use yellow to complement your already existing décor color palette. Adding pops of yellow to blues and greens will give you a fresh spring look.

So go outside and grab some just gave you the perfect excuse to make lemonade. Enjoy!

Wood Hangers

Try to buy hangers made of natural wood as they will help absorb the moisture from the fabric after a long day of wear. Visit our online store for our product recommendation.

Caring for Suits

Always hang your suit up in a well-spaced area when you’re not wearing it. And don’t hang it with one of those flimsy metal hangers that will leave hanger divots in the shoulders. Invest in a proper wooden hanger with a wide-spread contoured shape to preserve the shape and drape of the suit. The hanger should be wide enough to touch the edge of the shoulders and wide enough to fill up a portion of the shoulders. Try to buy hangers made of natural wood as they will help absorb the moisture from the fabric after a long day of wear.

WSDLA article, April 2021

Michael, our owner, was recently interviewed by the Western States Drycleaner and Laundry Association (WSDLA). The article will run next month; however, he was asked about the future of the industry. Here are his comments:

“In many ways, I don’t believe we will experience “business as usual” again. However, there is an unseen benefit for us. Our “usual” relied on technology -- to operate our machinery, track customer projects or orders, maintain accurate supply inventory, and engage with other businesses to maintain state of the art performance – while many businesses had to literally learn how to log on.
